I have had the same issues as other reviewers. In cooler weather, it blooms just fine, but in the heat of the summer, it did not bloom.

I have had the same issues as other reviewers. In cooler weather, it blooms just fine, but in the heat of the summer, it did now bloom.

I planted it late spring and it grew just fine, but would not bloom for me. As soon as the weather got cool, it started blooming like crazy. Here it is the end of December and it’s full of blooms. I’m in 7B and we have had plenty of below freezing temperatures.

Omg gorgeous! The color is INTENSE, and looks unreal! It didn’t do anything but grow leaves for like 5 months, then as a last resort, I planted it in a large pot with a bougainvillea against a southwest facing brick wall with a regular drip system, and wow! It didn’t happen immediately, but it’s now blooming like crazy with the cooler but still humid December Houston weather. Leaves still evenly deep green without chlorosis, and saturated colored blooms. I’m waiting to see if it will regrow from the roots or reseeding itself this coming spring.

This is one of my favorite plants. I have all (I think) colors in yellow (my favorite), orange, red, burgundy/pink, and white, Pastels bloom year round and have it on large arbors and going up fishing line (looks spectacular); Orange is most dynamic color but being less pastel, will quit blooming in hot weather (July-September) and then come back in fall. If you have having mixed success with this vine as some reviewers indicate, (IMHO) DO NOT FERTILIZE and cut back on the watering; thrives on neglect and being ignored (much like my ex-wife). Prefers poor soil. If you can, start with garden soil but nothing rich; add B1 but no fertilizer. Vines are my favorite group and this is my favorite vine. Out blooms anything else. Keep those hands dirty.

Purchased this plant early Spring with hopes of having beautiful display of orange flowers all summer long. Probably got 4 additional blossoms after planting on trellis which vines grew to about 8 ft tall and then nothing. Plenty of sunshine, well watered and fertilized. Will never plant again. I will go back to Morning Glory!
