This plant came looking quite healthy but has zero will to live. I purchased it last year, put it in a pot, and it looked okay all summer. Wintered good enough, but had some die-back. It has struggled all this summer, slowly getting smaller and weaker. I have nearly 50 hydrangeas, many in pots and many in the ground (paniculata, macrophylla, arborescens, oakleaf) and have never had this experience before. Really very disappointed.

Maintenance Notes:We recommend a minimum of six hours of sun for the strongest stems and the most abundant flowers. In hot climates, afternoon shade is beneficial, but some sun is still recommended for the best results.
Cascade hydrangeas bloom on old wood, so it's best to avoid pruning them, except to remove any dead wood. These hydrangeas cannot be cut back or trimmed at any time of the year without impacting the bloom for either the current season or the next.
A 2-3" (5-7.6 cm) layer of shredded bark mulch helps shallow-rooted hydrangeas to conserve moisture and keep roots growing vigorously, which ensures the best performance. Fertilize in early spring, after the ground has thawed but before new growth begins, to ensure the best results.

This is such a beautiful plant to have on your patio. Its flowers and cascading branches are elegant and feminine. Mine is in a bright spot but no direct sun and it is still covered in delicate white blooms. It is now 2 years old and growing strong.

So I’ve had this plant for over a year now and it has put on absolutely no growth. It isn’t dead as I can see it has green buds, but even last year it had green buds and didn’t grow an inch. Put out a flower but the plant is still only 3 inches tall

I LOVE this hydrangea. I am growing it in a container to see the weeping habit. It has been in bloom for two months and is still creating new blooms. It is graceful and lovely!

Purchased 4 large (3gal) plants for planters in sunny courtyard…. zero flowers…lots of leaves! Extremely disappointing…possibly a problem with a “new” plant product?
