    An excellent low maintenance mass planting or addition to mixed beds.

    Maintenance Notes: 

    Little needed. Apply a controlled release fertilizer in early spring, and trim if needed to shape. Deadhead after flowering to encourage reblooming.

    Double Play spiraea has both bright flowers and colorful foliage. This compact, low mounded plant has vibrant golden foliage and an abundance of pure pink summer flowers. It adds easy, season long color to gardens with very little effort. Double Play Gold maintains its compact mounded shape with very little pruning, and has much brighter color than other gold spiraea varieties.

    • You cannot lose with this shrub! Mine were planted June of last year. One wasn't in a sunny enough spot. I transplanted it in September. Gave them Rosetone organic fertilizer this Spring early. They have really taken off! Multitudes of blooms and filling out and getting taller. You will LOVE this plant!!!! It is striking!!

    • I adore my double play gold spirea. I planted it 2 years ago and it is thriving in full sun, clay soil. I do fertilize it once in the spring, but that's it and it probably doesn't need it. Super drought tolerant, cold tolerant and gorgeous when the leaves emerge in the spring. I adore the contrast of the bright gold leaves against my wine and roses weigela. A stunning combo.
