I've had this one for 2 years and am about to put in another one. It's hardy, deer-resistant, fragrant, and beautiful. The 1st winter we covered it every night and uncovered it during the day. This past winter we didn't bother. It's coming back right now just as strong as the 1st year when we were more careful. I love this one!!

Features
If you’d like to spend literal months enjoying flowers, Rock Steady vitex is meant for you! We trialed it next to other popular options and it bloomed anywhere from 6-16 weeks longer. Since it blooms on new wood, it has to grow its flower buds in spring, but once it starts flowering in late spring it doesn’t stop until fall! Its light purple, candelabra-like blooms attract pollinators and look lovely in a cut flower arrangement. It is very reliable, as it flowers on new wood. So even if it experiences winter dieback in a colder region, it should still pop back up and present flowers. Pop a Rock Steady vitex into your garden for a seasons-long floral show!

Commonly known as the chastetree, Vitex agnus-castus was in ancient times thought to be an anaphrodisiac. According to Wikipedia, the leaves and stems were once used in ladies' bedding to "cool the heat of lust" when the men were off to war, thus the name chastetree. We're not sure if this works or not, but we do know that it makes a wonderful landscape plant that is highly deer and drought resistant.
